Dr Mark Spring

BM DFFP DRCOG MRCGP

I am delighted to work at the Sandford Surgery and feel most at home here having been brought up in a small rural community in Cornwall.

Having trained at Southampton Medical School my first post was in Winchester before moving to Poole area where I have worked ever since aside from a 2 and a half year sojourn in New Zealand.

I have been a GP partner in both New Zealand and Bournemouth and have also had clinical experience in private health screening, motivational interviewing, acupuncture, community paediatrics, accident and emergency, rheumatology, and drug and alcohol abuse.

Prior to my medical degree, following graduation in Biochemistry I worked in sales and marketing, and was a clinical research national project manager for a pharmaceutical company.

My other current role is GP clinical lead for the Urgent Care service. This is a wide ranging role, involving all aspects of GP care and clinical governance within the Dorset out of hours GP service.

I am keen to utilise this broad experience as best possible in my clinical work.

Away from work I am keen to spend time with my wife and four children. We love the outdoors and a variety of sports in particular tennis, skiing and cycling.
We aim to provide efficient and quality healthcare, whilst maintaining a friendly, patient centred approach.

Dr Nicky Dawson

BM MRCN2GP DRCDG DRCOG DCH DFFP DPSM

I joined Dr Mark at Sandford Surgery at the beginning of March 2013. As a busy mother of four children I work part-time at Sandford but also continue to do some work for the Contraception and Sexual Health Service in Dorset.

I qualified as a GP in 2001 and since then have worked in many Practices across Dorset and also in New Zealand for 18 months. In addition, I have done some work in Genitourinary Medicine and Psychosexual Medicine.
